108 New COVID-19 Cases and 1 death

Jamaica recorded 108 new  COVID19 cases Thursday pushing the country’s tally to 14, 658.    Of the new cases, 38 are males and 70 are females, with ages ranging from 1 week  to 90 years.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 36, followed by St. Catherine with 21.    St James had 18 cases, Trelawny had 8, Westmoreland 7, Hanover 5, St. Thomas 4, St. Ann and Clarendon had 3 cases each, and St. Mary, St. Elizabeth and Manchester recorded 1 case each.

Meantime, the Health Ministry says one more person died from COVID19.  The deceased is a 43-year-old female from Westmoreland. Three other deaths are also under investigation. There are now 332 deaths from the disease.

Another 24 people have recovered, pushing total recoveries to 11,833.

The Ministry notes there are 2,319 active cases.

111 people are hospitalized, among them are 17 who are moderately ill and 12 who are critically ill.
