14 additional Covid-19 related deaths recorded

The Health and Wellness Ministry is reporting 14 more Covid-19 related deaths, pushing the death tally to 2,769.

One of the deaths occurred in January while the others occurred in February.

The deceased are 10 males and 4 females, ranging in age from 50 to 98 years.

7 of the deceased lived in Clarendon, 3 lived in St. Catherine, 2 in Manchester and one each in St. Thomas and Kingston and St. Andrew.

Meanwhile, 83 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19, pushing the case count to 127,377.

Of the new cases, 40 are females and 43 are males. Their ages range from 11 months to 93 years.

All parishes except Hanover recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 21.

The positivity rate is 10.3 per cent.

Meantime, 271 persons are hospitalized with the virus. 58 of them are moderately ill, 29 are severely ill and 7 are critically ill.

There are 278 more Covid-19 recoveries, pushing that tally to 74,150.
