182 new Covid-19 cases recorded yesterday

Jamaica’s Covid-19 cases continue to increase.

182 new cases were recorded yesterday (July 28), pushing the country’s case count to 52,504.

Of the new cases 110 are females and 72 are males, their ages range from 2 months to 93 years.

The positivity rate is 19.1 per cent.

St. Ann recorded the highest number of cases with 41, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 37 cases.

Portland recorded no new case.

Meanwhile, there was no new Covid-19 related death.

The country’s Covid death toll remains at 1,182.

142 persons are hospitalized, among them are 29 patients who are moderately ill and 24 who are critically ill.

27 persons have recovered pushing the tally to 46, 938.

There are 4,025 active cases.
