Two persons are dead following a motor vehicle accident along the Church Corner main road, in St. Thomas this morning (Nov 12).

Dead are fifty three year old Marlene Delprat and sixty seven year old Calvin Mowatt of Church Corner.

Reports are that about 6:00 a.m, the driver of a grey Nissan Tiida motor car was travelling in an easterly direction along the Church Corner main road, when she lost control of the vehicle, while trying to dodge a cyclist.

The vehicle slammed into a shop, before hitting a man and a woman, who were standing on the right side of the roadway.

The injured persons were rushed to the Princess Margaret hospital, where Delprat and Mowatt died while undergoing treatment.

Meantime, the driver of the vehicle has been admitted in critical condition. Police say she is unconscious.

Investigations continue.
