The 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League T/20 cricket Tournament will officially bowl off on August 21.

CPL and cricket West Indies (CWI) have agreed that year’s event will take place between August 21 and September 27.

This is the third successive year that the tournament will be contested in august and September for but going forward this will be the time of year that CPL takes place for the next five seasons.

Some 34 matches will be on the schedule and the opening round of matches will be played place in the island republic of Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana before returning to these two countries for the playoffs and finals.

Trindbago Knight Riders are the defending champions.

Johnny grave, CEO of cricket West Indies, said as the tournament plays a crucial role in the preparations and planning for the T/20 World Cup in 2020.
