The Health Ministry is reporting 22 additional Covid-19 related deaths bringing the overall tally to 2,594.

The deaths occurred between last September and January 21.

10 of the deceased lived in Kingston and St Andrew, 4 in St Catherine, 2 in St Ann, 3 in St Mary and 1 each in St James, Clarendon and Portland.

They ranged in age from 64 to 94 years.

Meantime, 838 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Saturday, pushing the tally to 119,565.

Of that number 509 were females and 329 were males ranging in age from 42 days to 99 years.

Kingston and St Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 211 followed by St Catherine with 188.

The positivity rate is 53.6 percent.

486 persons are in hospital among them 44 are severely ill, 18 are critically ill and 102 are moderately ill.

2 more persons have recovered bringing that tally to 68,274.
