24 Jamaican students who have been travelling to Poland on foot this morning (February 27) have reached the Polish border.

The students who are fleeing to Poland to escape Russia’s military assault on Ukraine had to abandon their bus to make the 12-mile journey on foot.

In an update this afternoon, Foreign Affairs Minister, Kamina Johnson Smith says the students have made it to an agreed border-crossing point.

She says flight arrangements will be made as soon as they are available, in a bid to get the students to Jamaica.
