Two hundred and sixty-eight (268) firearms have been seized, since the start of the year.

Police Commissioner, Major General Antony Anderson said this represents a 6 percent increase, compared to the corresponding period last year.

The commissioner also stated that 354 persons have been arrested, by the Joint Anti Gang Task Force.

Commissioner Anderson said 48 people were taken into custody, following an operation targeting alleged lottery scammers, at the weekend.
