At least thirty people have been detained and one firearm seized, since the imposition of a state of emergency in St. James, Westmoreland and Hanover yesterday.

Head of the JCF communications unit, Deputy Superintendent Dahlia Garrick, says the firearm was seized in Little London, Westmoreland earlier today (May 1).

She notes that the thirty people were detained for processing across the three parishes under the SOE.
