4 more persons die from covid-19, while 79 new cases are recorded

Four more persons have died from covid-19, pushing Jamaica’s tally to 243.

 

The deceased are a 59-year-old man from Kingston and St. Andrew, an 89-year-old man from St. James, a 95-year-old man from Trelawny, and a 77-year-old woman from Westmoreland.

 

The latter two were previously under investigation. There was one coincidental death.

 

Meantime, 79 new covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday.

 

Thirty-six are males and 43 are females, with ages ranging from 2 to 93 years.

 

St. Ann recorded 14 cases, St. Catherine 12, Kingston and St. Andrew 11, St. James 10, Portland 9, Westmoreland 6, St. Elizabeth 5, Hanover 4, Clarendon 3, Trelawny 2, and Manchester, St. Mary and St. Thomas 1 each.

 

Meantime there were 54 recoveries pushing the total to 5,572.

 

There are 4,465 active cases.

 

Seventy-nine persons are hospitalized, 12 are moderately ill, while 14 are critically ill.
