by November 30th, 2022

Some 45 people have been killed in traffic crashes so far this month, pushing the death tally for the year so far, to 431.

In the latest incident last evening, a 42 year old woman was killed in a hit and run accident along the Charlemont main road in St. Catherine.

Vice-Chairman of the National Road Safety Council Dr. Lucien Jones notes that her death brings to 90 the number of pedestrians killed on the roadways this year.

At the same time, Dr. Jones acknowledged the need for pedestrians to take safety precautions to protect themselves on the roadways.

Noting that the Christmas season is fast approaching and that road crashes usually increase around this time, Dr Jones urged road users to exercise caution.
