One man is dead, while 4 other persons are nursing gunshot wounds after gunmen opened fire on a group of people at the arcade section of the Spanish Town bus park in St. Catherine, this afternoon (Sept 13).

The identity of the dead man has not yet been ascertained.

Among the wounded are 2 women, an adult male and a young boy.

It’s reported that business at some of the shops in the arcade was hampered after police cordoned off the area under investigation.

Head of the JCF Communications Unit Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay says the incident occurred sometime after 1 o’clock.

Superintendent Lindsay is seeking to assure commuters that the bus park is safe to use, as officers are monitoring the area.

No motive has been established for the shooting.
