by October 30th, 2017

Over $50 m was collected today the penultimate day of the traffic ticket amnesty.

Since August, motorists with outstanding traffic tickets have been able to pay the fines at tax offices across the country, incurring no penalty or additional fines.

There has been a run on the tax offices as the amnesty enters its final hours.

Communications Director at Tax Administration Jamaica, Meris Haughton says there was a spike in attendees at tax offices.

Miss Haughton says the target collection has been surpassed.

She says the tax offices will maintain their regular hours and urges persons to have the relevant documents ready when they attend tax offices.
