A 70-year-old woman died in a house fire in Muirhouse, Buxton, St. Ann yesterday afternoon (May 17).

She has been identified as Lillian Grey.

Reports are that residents saw fire coming from a room in Ms. Grey’s house and alerted the police and fire department.

The Jamaica Fire Brigade conducted cooling down operations, following which the burnt body of Ms Grey was found inside a room.

The police and brigade are investigating the circumstances which led to the fire.
