Eight (8) more persons have died from Covid-19, bringing the country’s death tally to 2,658.

The Health Ministry reports that the deaths occurred between January 9 and 29.

Four of the deceased were from St. Elizabeth and 2 each from Clarendon and Kingston and St. Andrew.

They ranged in age from 75 to 91 years.

2 other deaths are under investigation.

Meantime, Covid hospitalizations remain above the 500 mark, at 501. 141 patients are moderately ill, 53 are severely ill and 24 are critically ill.

410 more persons have tested positive for the virus, pushing the case count to 124,512.

Of the new cases, 252 are females and 157 are males. They ranged in age from 1 day to 95 years.

All parishes recorded cases. Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 92.

The positivity rate is 33 per cent.

346 more persons have recovered from the virus, pushing total recoveries to 70,003.
