Eight persons were shot, 2 fatally, in Bayshore Park, Kingston this morning.

Police have not yet released the identities of those killed, however it’s understood that one of the dead men was a popular athlete / footballer.

Officers from the major investigation division are leading an investigation into the shooting incident.

Reports are that about 12:15 a.m., all eight persons were patrons at a party when masked men entered and opened gunfire at the crowd.

When the shooting subsided the eight patrons were found with gunshot wounds.

The police were summoned and they were taken to hospital where two men were pronounced dead and the others treated.
