9 more COVID 19 deaths and 673 new cases

Jamaica recorded 9 COVID-19 related deaths on Saturday. The death toll is now 533.

6 of the deceased are from Kingston and St Andrew,  4 men aged  81, 72, 61 and 31 and two women aged 82 and 75 . The other three are a 69-year-old man from St James, a 62-year-old female from Trelawny and a 90-year-old female from St. Thomas.  5 other deaths are under investigation.

Meanwhile, there were 673 new COVID -19 cases. The country’s case count now stands at 35 thousand  3 hundred and 38. The new cases comprise 383 females and 290 males with ages ranging from 10 days to 108 years.

The parish breakdown shows the highest number of cases in Kingston and St Andrew which recorded 176 new cases, followed by St Catherine with 126.

St Elizabeth had 56, St James 54,  Clarendon 50, Manchester 45,  Portland 38,  St Ann 33, Trelawny 30, St Mary 22, Westmoreland 16, St Thomas 14 and Hanover 13.

391 patients are hospitalized with  43 being moderately ill and 33 critically ill.

Meanwhile, 191 recovered and there are 18 thousand 426 active cases.
