The government is proposing to spend $912 billion for the 2022/23 fiscal year.

Minister of Finance Dr. Nigel Clarke, made the disclosure as he tabled the estimates of expenditure in the House of Representatives, on Thursday.

The finance minister pointed out that Jamaica’s economic growth requires investment in both capital and labour.

Meantime, leader of government business in the Lower House Ed Bartlett indicated that the standing finance committee will meet on March 1, to go through the 2022 / 23 budget.

The budget debate will follow, starting on March 8.

He outlined the schedule while addressing the house on Thursday.
