In celebration of Reggae Month, 29 days of Live Reggae day, and night activities under the theme “COME KETCH DE RIDDIM” is slated to take place in Jamaica, and across the world.

Saturday, February 1, will mark the beginning of the Reggae Month 2020 festivities.

The celebrations will kick off with a concert and floral tribute honouring the lifeworks of the late Dennis Emanuel Brown, who would have celebrated what would have been his 63rd birthday.

The day will begin with a floral tribute dubbed Remembering Dennis Brown at the National Heroes Park. Followed by the Children of the Icons’ concert featuring the offsprings of some of Jamaica’s greatest entertainers, as well as emerging talents, at the Sam Sharpe Square, in Montego Bay, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Other activities to commemorate Reggae Month include tribute concerts, exhibitions, workshops, awards, and films.

Reggae Month was officially proclaimed and first staged in 2008, spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture and powered by the Jamaican Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA).

The focus of Reggae Month is “edutainment”, highlighting Jamaica’s musical history and heritage.
