PM Holness: Government putting measures in place to deal with Coronavirus

by March 1st, 2020

As the coronavirus (Covid-19) continues to spread to more countries, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government has been putting measures in place to deal with the virus, if it reaches Jamaica.

Speaking at Jamaica Labour Party spot meeting in Portland Cottage, in South East Clarendon, the party leader noted that with the virus coming closer to Jamaica’s shores, the government has been increasing its preparedness.

He said while some of the measures put in place will cause some discomfort, the safety of Jamaicans is of the utmost importance.

He added that the government will be implementing a plan of action, with help from several partner agencies.
