Jamaica has recorded its first Corona Virus, Covid-19 death.  The announcement was made during a press conference at Jamaica house Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jacqueline Bisassor-Mckenzie says the patient, a 79-year-old male from Clarendon with travel history to New York, died Wednesday afternoon.

The victim suffered from diabetes and hypertension.

The Chief Medical Officer says measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

Meantime, there are 15 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Jamaica.
