Who Tipped Off Duddus?

by June 23rd, 2015

Former head of the Jamaica Defence Force, Major General Stewart Saunders attempted to stay clear of implicating anyone, when asked who may have tipped off Christopher “Duddus” Coke about the extradition request.

Major General Saunders, who was head of the army at the time of the 2010 operation, was being cross-examined by attorney for The Tivoli Committee, Michael Williams, at the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.

Major General Saunders stated that it would have appeared that Coke was tipped off, which resulted in him taking refuge in Tivoli Gardens.

The former army head was challenged about the discrepancy in the time, when the operation got underway.

Major General Saunders said that the security forces did not move into Tivoli until 11:00 a.m. despite testimony from a police corporal that the movements began shortly after 8:00 a.m.
