by March 27th, 2020

Contraband has been found in the cell of some prisoners following a raid this morning.

According to the Department of Correctional Services (DCS), an investigation was launched after reports that an inmate was involved in a LIVE stream on popular social media site, Instagram.

Music News understands that the cell of the inmate and other adjoining cells were searched by the Caribbean Search Center, and the contraband found removed. The DCS said, that the inmates in whose cells the contraband was found will be sanctioned.

Allegations are that Vybz Kartel is at the center of the probe.

All this comes after someone using an account with the user name Vybz Kartel joined an Instagram Live feed with producer Rvssian on Thursday night. Though there’s no image of the person, the individual who joined sang a piece of Vybz Kartel’s 2011 song, Tun Up Di Scheme before exiting. Rvssian has since deleted the live.

Just recently, one of Vybz Kartel’s attorney, Valerie-Neita Robertson said she’s worried about his health and vulnerability to the Coronavirus while he remains locked up.

After over a year of delays, incarcerated dancehall deejays Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm continue to wait for a delivery date on the ruling of the appeal of their murder convictions.
