Half a million medical grade masks landed in the island yesterday and are being cleared for distribution to the health sector.

That’s according to Permanent Secretary in the Health Ministry, Dunstan Bryan, who gave an update on the stocks of medical equipment in the public health sector.

He noted that in addition to the masks, almost 100,000 face shields are to arrive in the island by next week.

In the meantime, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jacquiline Bisasor McKenzie notes that six of the ventilators ordered have been received at this time.
