Cornpiece quarantine lifted

by April 17th, 2020

The health ministry has lifted the quarantine imposed on Cornpiece settlement in Clarendon.

In a statement, it says the community is no longer deemed a public health risk, however public health officials will continue to monitor residents.

Cornpiece was placed under quarantine for an initial 14 days on March 19, following the first confirmed coronavirus death, a 79-year-old man with a travel history from New York.

The quarantine was extended for a further two weeks on April 3, after six close contacts of the 79-year-old tested positive for the disease.
