Deportation flight carrying 28 Jamaicans arrive; two more repatriation flights expected this weekend

A deportation flight carrying some 28 Jamaicans from the United States arrived on the island this morning (May 28).

 

Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of National Security, Matthew Samuda, confirmed the arrival of the involuntary returned migrants.

 

Speaking in an interview with Irie FM News earlier today, he said the Jamaicans were being processed by the authorities.

 

 

In the meantime, Mr. Samuda confirmed that a flight with 26 Jamaican cruise ship workers also arrived yesterday.

 

That flight came into the island from Florida.

 

The State Minister noted that two more repatriation flights are expected for this weekend.

 

Tomorrow’s flight will repatriate individuals from Cuba and Turks and Caicos, while Saturday’s flight will repatriate persons from Florida.
