Opposition Apprenticeship Programmes

by July 26th, 2015

Opposition Leader, Andrew Holness says when the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is returned to power the party will establish two programmes designed to promote work experience for school leavers.

He says the programmes, which will be called the National Apprenticeship Programme and the National Service Programme, will expose youths to the work world.

Mr Holness states that in addition to providing exposure, experience and an introduction to the world of work, the programmes are expected to occupy the time of the youths.

The JLP leader was speaking at a recent party rally at the Bethel Town Primary and Junior High School in Eastern Hanover.

During the rally, Dave Brown was introduced as the new candidate selected to represent party in the constituency when the next general election is called.

Brown succeeds Paula Kerr-Jarrett who resigned as caretaker in January, citing the need to spend more time with her family business.
