As recruitment intensifies for Jamaican workers, under the Canadian Seasonal Agricultural Farm Workers Programme, The Labour Ministry is restating, that there is no fee attached, to the application form, being issued.

The Ministry says members of the public should be aware that the pre-selection exercise is free of charge and no processing fees are required.

It says payment of fees only becomes necessary after an applicant has successfully completed the interview process and medical examination.

The applicable fees include: payment for police certificate at the Tax Collectorate, payment for biometric fees (fingerprints & photographs) at the Bank of Nova Scotia and payment for Canadian visa application at the Bank of Nova Scotia.

The Ministry is emphasizing that the Canadian Seasonal Agricultural (Farm) Work application forms are not being sold and do not attract processing fees, therefore no monies should be paid to anyone.

It says it should also be noted that forms are not to be photocopied or reproduced in any way, as such forms will be disqualified.

The Ministry concluded saying people, who have been approached and offered placement in the Canadian Seasonal Agricultural (Farm) Work Programme for a fee should report the matter immediately to the nearest police station.
