Trinidad’s 2021 Carnival cancelled

by September 28th, 2020

I see no future for Carnival in the months ahead,” says Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley.

Revellers who were anticipating Trinidad’s Carnival in 2021 were left disappointed after Prime Minister Rowley decided to pull the plug on the event that was slated to take place in February 2021. He made the announcement at a Spotlight on the Budget Forum earlier today.

The effects of the coronavirus continue to dim the lights of entertainment events around the world.

Other Caribbean countries, including Jamaica, have cancelled the 2020 staging of Carnival, with possibilities looming over 2021.

At present, Jamaica has recorded 6,170 coronavirus cases, 1,741 recoveries, and a death toll of 93.
