by October 16th, 2020

Reggae singer Etana is among the social media users showing support to singer Dalton Harris after he revealed yesterday (October 15) that he contemplated ending his life but had a change of heart after he spoke with God.

On Thursday, Dalton Harris who won the 2018 UK X Factor competition, opened up about his struggle on Twitter. He wrote, “I had a deep realization last night. The only reason I didn’t take my life today (Thursday) is because I spoke with GOD and I decided to make the biggest change I will ever make in my life. I want to live my life not running away from pain inflicted on me or the pain I inflict on anyone.”

Singer Etana who used the platform to remind Dalton that he’s amazing is among a slew of social media users showing him support. On Twitter, Etana wrote, “You’re an amazing soul. What did I do when I was here. I chose to live. With every scar, you are still great. Remember that. Every day is a new opportunity to do something many can’t do. Live, laugh, inhale, exhale, and sing. Perfect love. Up! Like a million 11.”

In follow-up tweets, Dalton Harris, a former Digicel Rising Stars winner (2010), said, “I want to be happy and truly smile. I ended a relationship that was the beat (best) thing that happened to me and that taught me so many things. Taught me that I am valuable and that I matter and deserve love. Thank you Ayose. I will love you forever.”

Dalton further stated, “I want to experience life and be honest with myself and everyone around me in my intentions. Not hide or mask feelings and or flaws. Not judge myself. Not abuse myself and or anyone else. I am thankful for my family and everyone who is around me.”

The tweets have since received numerous reactions and comments from his supporters, many of whom offered him words of encouragement and support.

Dalton Harris has also thanked his followers for their support. Meanwhile, some labelled his action as attention-seeking. Dalton did not hesitate to respond. He said, “it is sad and heartless that some individuals would want to destroy someone who is already destroyed.”
