Flash Flood Watch Lifted

by August 29th, 2015

The Meteorological Service has discontinued the Flash Flood Watch for the low-lying and flood prone areas of all parishes with immediate effect.

Erika degenerated to a Trough of Low Pressure Saturday morning.

As of 4:00p.m. the remnants are located near central Cuba and moving west northwestward away from Jamaica.

Doppler Radar and satellite imagery indicated that showers affected mainly western parishes during the afternoon on Saturday and as a result the potential for significant rainfall and flooding across Jamaica has greatly diminished.

The forecast is for lingering showers and isolated thunderstorms over mainly northern and southeastern parishes tonight through Sunday morning.
