Minister accuses telecoms companies of short-changing customers

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton has accused the island’s telecommunications companies of short-changing consumers, as it relates to the provision of internet services.

 

The minister argued that some communities across the island are receiving inconsistent internet services and that this is unacceptable.

 

Dr. Tufton, who was speaking at a handing over ceremony for tablets in his West Central St. Catherine constituency yesterday (November 11), said in some cases, the companies are collecting for the services, without providing them.

 

 

Dr. Tufton lamented, that the inconsistency of internet service, could affect the outcomes of digital learning.

 

He noted that the government will have to intervene to ensure better service for citizens.
