Two more covid-19 deaths and 69 new cases recorded

The country has recorded two more covid-19 related deaths, pushing the death tally to 235.

 

The Ministry of Health and Wellness says the deceased are a 53-year-old female and a 63-year-old male from Kingston and St. Andrew. One death is under investigation.

 

Meantime, Jamaica has recorded 69 new covid-19 cases, pushing the country’s overall tally to 10,088. Of the confirmed cases, 36 are males and 33 are females, with ages ranging from 3 months to 83 years.

 

St. Catherine saw the highest number of cases with 20, Kingston and St. Andrew 12, St. James 9, St. Ann 7, Hanover 6, Manchester and St. Elizabeth 4 each, Westmoreland 3, and Trelawny and Portland 2 each.

 

91 persons are hospitalized, with 8 patients being moderately ill and 7 patients critically ill.

 

Thirty-eight persons have recovered from covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
