During The State of the Constituency Debate, this afternoon (September 8, 2015) Dr Campbell  said  low income earners who wish to become home owners should be given the opportunity to acquire a loan to purchase a piece of land.

The MP highlighted a conversation he had with a low income earner from his constituency which he says underscored the need for home ownership for those people.

Dr Campbell believes that this can be achieved through collaboration between Food For The Poor and The NHT.

He explained that since Food For The Poor already builds houses for Jamaicans this can be used as a good foundation for the initiative.

Meanwhile, the MP is also calling for an entrepreneurial training for citizens simultaneously with skills training.

Dr Campbell says that when citizens receive both forms of training they will not only become employed and employable, but can also become employers in the future.

The Northwest St Ann MP proposes that loans should also be made available to ensure those who received both skills and entrepreneurial training can start their own businesses.
