Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival postponed

by January 15th, 2021

Despite successful rehearsals, the organizers of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival have pulled the plug on its virtual staging slated to take place over three days at the end of the month.

After a five-year hiatus, the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival was set to take place from January 28 – 30, but now the virtual event has been rescheduled.

Music News understands that the event will now take place from March 4 – 6.

According to reports, the postponement comes following COVID-19 concerns that prevented some international acts from participating in the festival due to safety protocols in the cities they reside.

Richie Stephens, Tessellated, Jah9, Lila Ike, and Sevanna were some of the entertainers confirmed for the 2021 staging of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival dubbed ‘Bring Back The Magic.’

Since the start of 2021, this is the second major event to be affected by COVID-19 restrictions. Recently, the 2021 Grammys originally slated to take place on January 31, was postponed to March.
