A man was shot and killed by alleged gunmen in Long Bay, St. James last evening.

The victim has been identified as 34-year-old labourer, Raylando Lawson of Greenwood in the parish.

Reports are that about 9:30 p.m. heard residents explosions coming from a section of the community and alerted the police.

The police later found Lawson beside a house in a yard with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.

The Barrett Town Police are investigating.
