7 Year old Girl Mowed Down

by October 7th, 2015

A Clarendon mother is trying to come to terms, with the death of her 7-year-old daughter, who was mowed down and left at the side of the road, yesterday morning.

Dead is Abigail Whyne of Savanna Cross, and a student of the Cross Primary and Junior High School in Clarendon.

According to Abigail’s mother, the child left for school early yesterday morning, as she had a project, which was due the day before, and wanted to submit it early to her teacher.

Jacqueline Goldbourne says, she was unable to walk with her daughter to school that morning as Abigail wanted to leave a little earlier than usual, and she had to tend to two other children.

She says she received a call from the police that her daughter was mowed down and left at the side of the road. Mr. Gouldbourne says it was another motorist, who saw her, and took her to the May Pen Hospital.

Abigail was then transferred to the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston.

The grieving mother questions how a motorist could mow-down a child, and leave her to die.

She describes young Abigail as loving and bright.
