Jamaican government presents Official Passport to Jimmy Cliff

Reggae icon Jimmy Cliff, has been accorded with an Official Passport by the Jamaican Government.

Official passports are issued to government officials who represent Jamaica’s interests overseas.

The presentation was made by Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange at the Ministry’s office on Wednesday.

A globally renowned reggae ambassador, Jimmy Cliff is one of two Jamaican musicians alive to receive the second highest honour, the Order of Merit, and was the recipient of IRIE FM’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement award in 2017.

In March 2019, the popular Hip Strip, Gloucester Avenue in Montego Bay, was officially renamed Jimmy Cliff Boulevard.
