US Ambassador to Jamaica, Luis Moreno is urging the government and private sector leaders to crush the root causes of the country’s crime problems in order to continue to secure investments from the United States.

Ambassador Moreno says the current spate of crime across the island is a deterrent to potential investors both from the United States and other parts of the world wanting to expand their businesses to Jamaica.

Ambassador Moreno also states that domestic violence crimes are on the increase and that continues to be a financial burden to the country’s economy.

The US Ambassador to Jamaica says greater efforts to reject crime in order to stimulate investment and growth must be forged between the government and the business community.
