Jamaica records highest Covid case count in a day

Jamaica has recorded its highest number of Covid 19 cases in a 24 hour period, with 263 new cases yesterday.

 

This has pushed the total to 16,513.

 

Of the new cases 114 are males and 149 are females.

 

They range in age from one day to 87 years.

 

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 70. St. Catherine followed with 64, Manchester 46, Clarendon 32, St. Ann 20, St. Elizabeth 12, Trelawny 7, St. James and Westmoreland both recorded 4 cases, St. Thomas 2, while Portland and Hanover had 1 each.

 

Meanwhile, Jamaica recorded two new deaths.

 

They are a 78 year old male from St. Mary and a 71 year old male from St. Catherine.

 

There are 119 patients hospitalised.

 

Of the 119, 21 patients are moderately ill.

 

And, 10 are in critical condition.
