329 new COVID cases and 1 more death

Another big jump in COVID 19 cases was recorded yesterday. The 329 new cases have pushed Jamaica’s case count to 18,237.

Of the new cases, 137 are males and 191 females, while 1 case is under investigation. They range in age from 1 year to 103 years.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest with 105 cases, followed by St. James with 60.

St. Catherine had 59, Manchester 33, St. Ann 26, Clarendon 16, Westmoreland 10, Hanover and st. Elizabeth 7 each, Portland 3, St. Mary 2 and Trelawny 1.

Meantime there was 1 new death pushing that tally to 363.   The deceased is a 61-year-old male from Westmoreland.

The health ministry says there was also one coincidental death.

50 persons have recovered pushing that tally to 12,456.

5,280 cases are active.

198 persons are in hospital, among them are 18 patients who are critically ill and 26 who are moderately ill.
