The St. Ann woman, who reported that she was raped 2 months ago, but later retracted the statement, has been charged with making public mischief.

The woman’s identity is being withheld.

Head of the St. Ann police division Superintendent Dwight Powell said the woman is to appear before the St. Ann parish court, soon.

Superintendent Powell has warned members of the public against making false claims to the police.

He was speaking at yesterday’s sitting of the St. Ann Municipal Corporation monthly meeting.
