St. Vincent Soca entertainer Skinny Fabulous is seeking prayers for the people in the southern Caribbean after a volcano erupted on Friday (April 9).

On Instagram, Skinny Fabulous updated his over 154,000 followers on the online platform. In one post, he wrote, “Happening now… the volcano is erupting AGAIN. The 2nd explosive eruption has occurred.”

Reggae and Dancehall entertainers Bounty Killer, Tarrus Riley, and Dexta Daps are among the many social media users using the hashtag, pray for St. Vincent after the volcano that had been dormant for decades, erupted, spewing clouds of ash and smoke for miles and forcing thousands to evacuate.

On Thursday (April 8), Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines declared a disaster alert and ordered a full evacuation of the area.

Assistance has since come from Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

Meanwhile, Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity Cruises have offered to assist in evacuations.
