Foota Hype proposes ‘Fed Up’ Challenge to address government

by April 12th, 2021

Selector Foota Hype is urging social media users to start a ‘Fed Up’ challenge using Bounty Killer’s 1996 infectious hit ‘Poor People Fed Up’ to send a message to the Jamaican government.

The controversial selector used his official Instagram to send the message urging Jamaicans who are fed-up with the crime and violence in the country to participate in the social media challenge.

This comes after Prime Minister Andrew Holness, in an interview, took a jab at the people at the lower end of the country’s socioeconomic status while talking about what he believes contributes to the spread of COVID-19. In the video produced by the Jamaica Observer, the PM said, “We have to lockdown because the persons who are going to the corner shops to buy two pounds of rice, big gill of oil, half of bread, chicken parts or chicken back are not wearing their masks or social distancing.”

The Prime Minister’s comment has since been met with heavy criticisms across all social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Foota Hype’s call for a ‘Fed Up’ challenge has been endorsed by entertainers Tarrus Riley and Shuga, whom both liked the post on Instagram.

‘Fed Up’ is from Bounty Killer’s 1996 album, My Xperience.
