Usain Bolt questions Dancehall pushback

Retired sprint legend turned music producer Usain Bolt is today (April 26) pondering why his interest in the music business is such an issue.

Bolt who is regarded as the greatest sprinter of all time shared his concern with his over 10 million followers on Instagram. The video posted on the social media platform shows Usain Bolt vibing to Cham’s song, ‘Lockdown’, which is featured on his latest Riddim, ‘Clockwork.’

In the caption of the video that has already racked up over 80,000 interactions, he wrote in part, “Usain Bolt contributes to sports, food/cuisine, education, health, finance, tourism, agriculture, commerce/technology, employment, and security no problem. Usain Bolt contributes to dancehall/reggae music problem, why (thinking face emoji).”

Meanwhile, Football star Ricardo Bibi Gardner along with dancehall entertainers Cham, Dovey Magnum, Teejay, and Singer J are among the many social media users showing support for Usain Bolt.

In January, Usain received criticism from Dancehall deejay PopCaan following the release of his single ‘Living the Dream’, a collaboration with his best friend and manager, NJ. Popcaan at the time urged Bolt to use his platform to “help some youths wid real musical talent.”

Usain Bolt’s musical venture began in 2019 with the release of ‘Olympe Rose’ and followed up with ‘Immortal’ in November of that same year.
