Caribbean Examination Council to accept SBA submissions on a phased basis

by April 30th, 2021

The Caribbean Examination Council CXC will be accepting submissions of School-Based Assessments on a phased basis for this academic year.

This in the wake of concern by some students and school administrators about the deadline for SBA submission, amid challenges facing the education sector due to the COVID pandemic.

Speaking at a Virtual Town Hall  Thursday evening Education Minister Fayval Williams said the ministry had requested an extension of the deadline, but CXC offered to phase submissions, instead.

Submissions should be made by June 18 and 30.

Meantime, Chief Executive Officer of CXC Dr. Wayne Wesley explained that consideration was given with respect to SBA’s for practical subjects.

He added that for candidates who opt to defer, they have up to October to submit their SBA’s.

He pointed out that the phased submissions will impact the processing and release of final grades.
