Entertainers react to Mocha Fest saga

Dancehall heavyweight Beenie Man who was recently fined for staging an illegal party has weighed in on the ongoing Mocha Fest saga.

On social media, Beenie Man wrote, “I guess my apology was not good enough. I am not above the law, but some people are.”

Dancehall deejay Spragga Benz in his comment under the post said, “We are all equal but some animals are more equal than others.”

Bounty Killer and Cham are among the entertainers and social media users reacting.

Bounty Killer in his Instagram post wrote, “@andrewholnessjm unuh charge the pastor lady and also @kingbeenieman who is a true ambassador or country and its culture we had a problem with that but let’s see what’s gonna happen to Rick’s Cafe now, if it’s a triple standard thing a gwaan?”

While Cham on his official Instagram page wrote, “I see the Jamaica Tourist Board received an 8 day permit outside of the current order to keep their festival while the entire entertainment industry is on lockdown.”

Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton in a post made to social media Friday, said, “Full investigation launched into JTB-advertised Mocha Fest party series.”

Prime Minister Andrew Holness on his Instagram page wrote, “I am aware of and I am paying careful attention to the issue of a party which was held in breach of our COVID-19 protocols.”
