Mood Fest files defamation lawsuit

by June 7th, 2021

The organizers of Mood Fest have filed a lawsuit against Delano Seiveright, the Government of Jamaica and Grand Palladium for defamation.

In the lawsuit filed on Friday, June 4, MoodFest LLC says it has suffered reputational harm, damages, and costs.

On its official website, Mood Fest is being advertised as a four-night, five-day international music festival scheduled to take place in September at the Grand Palladium Resort at Point, Hanover.

However, in a statement from Grand Palladium last Thursday, it dismissed claims that Mood Fest would be held at the property.

Meanwhile, the Tourism Ministry’s Senior Advisor and Strategist, Delano Seiveright, on Twitter, said Mood Fest is “also a scam”.

This Mood Fest controversy comes on the heels of the recent Mocha Fest party at Rick’s Café in Negril, Westmoreland, which saw the biggest breach of Jamaica’s COVID-19 protocols.
