Two time Olympic 100 meters champion Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce has booked her ticket to her fourth consecutive Olympic games.

The fastest woman alive was crowned National Champion for a fourth time after speeding to victory in the women’s 100 meters final on Friday’s second day of the JAAA National Senior Championships at the National Stadium.

Fraser Pryce ran 10.71 seconds while holding off a late surge from surprise package Shericka Jackson who stepped down from the 400 meters

Jackson, who had earlier logged a new personal best of 10.77 seconds in the semi final clocked 10.82 seconds while reigning Olympic sprint double champion Elaine Thompson-Herah will defend her title in Tokyo after placing third in 10.84 seconds.

World Under 20 sprint double champion Briana Williams was fourth in 11.01 seconds, followed by Remona Burchell in 11.15 seconds and Natasha Morrison in 11.16 seconds.

In the men’s 100 meters, Tyquendo Tracey, 10.00 seconds, won ahead of 2012 Olympic Silver medalist Yohan Blake, 10.01 and young sprinter Oblique Seville, 10.04 seconds.

Meanwhile Commonwealth Games champion, Janieve Russell, won her third National Women’s 400 meters hurdles title on by running a season’s best 54.07 seconds.

2017 Champion Ronda Whyte was second in 54.94 seconds and Leah Nugent third in 54.98 seconds after holding off a strong challenge from World under 20 silver medalist Shiann Salmon, who clocked 55.00 seconds.

In the men’s race, two-time World Under-20 champion, Jaheel Hyde, ran a big personal best 48.18 seconds, to win his first senior title and book his ticket to the Olympics.

Sean Rowe was second in 49.60 seconds and defending champion Kemar Mowatt, who also had the qualifying time, was third.
