CAPRI Concerned About Jamaica’s Inadequate Minimum Wage

by July 16th, 2021

The Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI) has expressed concern about Jamaica’s minimum wage, which it says is inadequate.

The issue was raised yesterday by CAPRI’s lead researcher Jennifer Jones, as she presented the findings of a study dubbed, “Locked Down, Locked Out, Vulnerable Communities During the Pandemic”.

Miss Jones said the minimum wage does not allow a family of 4 with a single income earner to escape poverty.
